The Bum Roll was considered an essential part of the costume of any middle or upper class lady during the Elizabethan era. Middle class women would wear a Bum Roll alone to give the illusion of many layers of skirts, while noble ladies used Bum Rolls to further enhance their silhouette.
Bum Rolls should be worn just below the natural waist, on top of the hips. Our version is constructed of cotton muslin and is firmly stuffed with polyester batting - so it's completely machine washable! Ties at the front with a sturdy ribbon.
